The German Association for Pattern Recognition (Die Deutsche
Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Mustererkennung e.V., DAGM e.V.) invites
you to participate at the 27th annual pattern recognition symposium
DAGM'05 in Vienna, Austria, August 31th - September 2nd, 2005. It
is hosted by the Vienna University of Technology and organized by
the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Group. DAGM05 is
intended as a convention of renowned experts in all areas of pattern
recognition and image processing to present and discuss recent
progress and advances.

We received 122 contributions of which we were able to accept 60
papers for presentation. Each paper received three reviews, upon which
decisions were based on correctness, presentation, technical depth,
scientic signicance and originality.

We were honored to have the following three invited speakers at the
conference:
o Jan P. Allebach, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering,
Purdue University: Digital Printing: A Rich Domain for
   Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition.
o Sven Dickinson, Department of Computer Science, University of
Toronto: Object Categorization and the Need for Many-to Many
   Matching.
o Vaclav Hlavac, Center for Machine Perception, Czech Technical
University: Simple Solvers for Large Quadratic Programming Tasks.

The Lecture and Poster Sessions will cover the following topics:
o Color Analysis
o Stereo Vision
o Segmentation and Grouping
o 3D View Registration and Surface Modeling
o Motion and Tracking
o Computational Learning
o Applications
o Uncertainty and Robustness

and there will be a special session on Automatic Speech
Understanding (see http://www.prip.tuwien.ac.at/dagm05/program.php)
