The 8th International Conference on VISual Information Systems (VIS'2005)
will be held in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, July 4-5, 2005

Following the successes of the previous International Conferences of VISual
Information System
which had been held in San Franciso, Miami, Melbourne, San Diego,
Amsterdam, Lyon and Taiwan,
the 8th International Conference on VISual information systems is a
particularly special event in that
it will be held in conjunction with
the IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME 2005) which will
be held in Amsterdam, July 6-8, 2005. See http://www.icme2005.org/

The synergy of the two closely related research communities of multimedia
and visual information systems
is expected to generate exciting discussions and lively exchanges that will
lead to
new paradigms and approaches in the respective fields.
