IMAGE DATABASES
A special track of the INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON VISUAL COMPUTING 2007 (ISVC07)

http://www.isvc.net

Image storage and retrieval is one of the hot topics in image processing
community today. The proliferation of digital cameras as well as images
from other sources such as satellites and medical devices has resulted
in large image databases, both public and private. Using these
databases effectively will require development of novel query mechanisms
as well as efficient techniques to retrieve images that may not even be
properly described.

This workshop will facilitate the exchange of ideas in image database
community and general image processing and computer vision community.
The workshop will provide an overview of the state of the art of
research in image databases and explore the use of image processing
techniques to improve the quality of retrieval.

Topics of interest include all aspects of image database organization,
storage, indexing, and retrieval including, but not limited to, the
following areas
* Content-based, text-based, and mixed-mode image retrieval
* Image retrieval in specialized domains (face database, satellite
imagery, medical imagery)
* Novel query mechanisms
* Mathematical models for image retrieval

SUBMISSION/PROCEEDINGS
This is an open call-for-papers. Only original, high-quality papers,
in-line with the ISVC'07 standard guidelines
( http://www.isvc.net/author.html ), will be considered for publication
in this special track. Prospective authors should submit
electronically their contributions through the website of ISVC07.

Accepted papers will appear in the symposium proceedings which will be
published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science
(LNCS) series.
