The January/March 2008 issue of the Journal of Electronic Imaging (JEI) is publishing a special section
on the current state of the art in biometric user authentication systems.

Manuscripts are due 31 May 2007.

Suggested topics include:

    * Advanced evaluation methodologies for largely deployed biometrics
    * Biometric cryptosystems and biometric hashing: new concepts and their validation
    * Biometric image processing in embedded and mobile devices
    * Impacts of nontechnical issues of biometrics: novel experimental studies and field evaluations of social, cultural, and demographic factors
    * Innovative theoretical models for multiple-expert systems
    * Multiple-expert systems (e.g., multimodal, multisensor, and multialgorithmic systems): current and future problems, solutions, and comparative studies
    * Sensors for biometric images: novel techniques and issues of interoperability
    * System security for biometrics: original contributions to reference image and template protection, system security, secure protocols, and process design
    * Usability and user interfaces for biometrics: advances in design and perceived usability
