Workshop on Computer Vision for Nanoscale Imaging, Rio de Janeiro,

Computer vision is rapidly expanding into this new and exciting field of
nanoscale imaging, and considerable research efforts are currently being
spent on developing new image-based characterization techniques to
analyze these images. Nanoscale characterization requires algorithms to
perform image analysis under extremely challenging conditions such as
low signal-to-noise ratio and low resolution. It is important to design
image processing and analysis algorithms that are able to enhance
images, detect objects and features, reconstruct 3D geometry, and track
features.

The goal of the workshop will be to bring in researchers from
multi-disciplinary areas and identify common mathematical problems,
models, and methods for future research in this emerging new topic.
Contributed papers describing recent advances in either area of
nanoscale image analysis research or application are welcome. A
non-exclusive list of possible topics for submissions in the area of
nanoscale image analysis is:

– Image enhancement techniques
– Noise characterization (for example, noise modeling for TEM, SEM,
etc.)
– Object detection techniques
– Texture analysis
– Feature extraction techniques
– Tracking in nanoscale image sequences
– 3D reconstruction techniques
– Characterization of semitransparent objects
– Multi-modal fusion for visualization
– Nanobio image analysis

Deadline for paper submission: June 4th, 2007
Notification of acceptance: End of July, 2007 (Parallel to ICCV)
Deadline for camera-ready electronic copy: August, 2007 (Parallel to ICCV)
